The two gentlemen who did the work were professional, meticulous, and
clean. The demolition was so careful and quiet that my 16-month old
daughter, who wakes if a dog sneezed down the block, napped through 2 hours
of it in a room that back onto the chimney. Ryan, the mason clearly enjoys
what he does, and it showed in the work. He suggested a slightly different
physical layout for the bricks, and it turned out looking much better than
the original. He dotingly picked and placed each brick in a (successful)
effort to match the original style and appearance of the rest of the house.
The chimney looks great. For icing, they treated our yard like a national
park. They were neat and orderly while they were here, and they left no
trace of their passing when they were done, not a lick of garbage or mess.
I've hired a fair number of contractors in my time and that's a first.
